‘Autumn cycle’ - 17th July 2020

Life is much longer than I thought, at the same time, life was much shorter in a certain period.

When I was a curator for three years, I met a girl who was a dancer once, then abandoned the dream, being back to her own country, started to lead a completely different and rather conservative life. She told me that, she doesn’t know why but she lost interest in people or social life completely. Sometimes she disappeared more than a week, left to the deep woods for camping, without taking any devices such as a mobile that we can get in touch with. She seems to be in tune with herself in such a manner.

She asked me in a blunt manner. 

‘So you are creating boxes for others, right?’

These words stood in my mind for a while. I guess she spotted right on the matter. Though when she said it, I was not really sure where I was standing at the moment. It is not that who said what. But what words would stay in my mind was a matter.

Social influence would determine partially the way we would express our role in a society. Then, the question is, would that be showing who we truly are?

Do you have a quiet spot in your daily task?

After three years of being a curator, after I completed one group show organized, I do realize that it is time for me to express from inside out. Do work. Do the naked work to understand me. The expression is not just done by words only. Sometimes words are not enough or not precisely shown. Personally, I think, that is why the act through art, music, performance, poetry we humans would grow to express right directly from our hearts.
