‘Staring at’ - 20th September 2020

When I was in the middle of the lockdown period in Manila Philippines a few months ago, a kind of special greeting ceremony became in fashion. Surely I and my son needed to stay home most of the time, only the chances that we were allowed to leave the apartment block were going to a supermarket once a week or limited to some essential outings. In such rare occasions, when we bumped into some people we know, we did this little greeting ceremony, 

‘Distance Hug!’ 

As we say, we pretended to give a hug to each other from a couple of meters away along with a Big Smily. 

There were ‘Smily’ banners and posters in the supermarket, in the lifts and along the corridors, saying that ‘especially now, even we cannot see your facial expression behind the masks, let’s give a smile to each other for caring! ‘

These little daily gestures make our surroundings in a harmonious shape, energetically I guess.
