‘The random encounters’ - 27th February 2021

My life in Moscow cannot be talked about without Mr. O. Without Mr. O, I guess I couldn’t live in that country as I didn’t know the language, not many people close to, literally pretty lost holding my little son who was 4 years old at that time.

Mr. O didn’t do anything directly to me. He introduced me to some of his contacts, saying, “Go to see this person!” And “Talk to that person!”

Mr. O was an old man who was in charge of the Japanese Association in Moscow. At first glance, he was a very modest person, and he was rather not with the atmosphere that would make it easy to consult at the first meeting to the truth. When I first met him, I didn’t expect to be taken care of for the next four years.

However, as I got to know his personality, I was impressed by the relaxed attitude. He listened silently to my story, and he never had any assumption that came from the judgment of good or bad.

Again, I learned to say, “Do not judge a book by its cover. What appears on the surface might not tell the truth.” Normally, he seemed to focus on very modest office work, however, through meeting those people introduced by Mr. O, I learned how much people respect him and he had a wide network of contacts.

“Mr. O requested me to help you!”

I was given the opportunity to meet those people who would have been very busy with their business, such as the branch manager of a famous trading company and the director of a famous brand, etc., who would not be able to meet back in Japan so often.

At that time, I was like a wandering cat and was a little out of place, so it was a kind of challenging thing to do for me. I was taken to a luxurious reception room and talked about the situation as Mr. O told me to do so.

However, it was a great opportunity to get in touch with the thoughts of those who are smart in business.

“So, did you bring any presentation materials?”

Very much straightforward.

“What? I’m a complete amateur doing this. What I should do, honestly, completely no idea.”

In the end, this branch manager of a famous trading company gave me a lecture on how to make presentation materials and how to design a sponsor package.

“Once you are done with the presentation materials, go to see this person from that company, that person from this company, and this person from that company! Please give a proper presentation as I told you!” 

For the next couple of months or so, that was how I started to lead my unknown path.

Fears that installed by others will be subsided. You will see through life in a better version of the perception, without being brainwashed by other people’s agendas.

Standing up on your two feet. That is what you will achieve.
