The wind and the earth -the combination of the moving force. The promise of the moon, or simply execute, just do it.

The earth to build its foundation and nurturing the seed to grow, then the air, the wind of the world carries those information to spread. The introversion of the role of the earth might be so hidden from the eye of the so-called ‘public’, might be translated as a work of the voice of the ‘air’ itself, but if the desire of the high stimulation was resided within the air, possibly no time or space to ‘think through’ the seed itself.

Those elements of the earth and the wind would work coherently in order to execute its moving. Never only with one-sided. Though what appeared to be on the surface, would not show in such a way.

‘The warmth of people’ - 29th September 2020

‘After all, the important thing is the warmth of people.’

The gallery owner told me.

No matter how convenient is prioritized, even if you can shop quickly at Amazon etc. When you would start to explore the subject of what is really value deeply, each person’s individual “essence” can be seen. It’s different from selling an apple or a bag of rice. In other words, the work of an Art piece could provide the “value” of an invisible area without a frame of “the market price”.

The owner is not only taking care of paintings and sculpture, but also dealing with pottery, handmade clothes, and wooden furniture, based on the idea that he wants people to cherish the little things that are familiar to them in their daily lives. From the whole gallery, I could feel the warmth and the warmth of the creative artists behind those pieces.

‘I want you to cherish your feelings about things that are close to you in your daily life.’ He also said that how people handle things would show us who they are.

‘On the other hand, discipline is necessary to identify the real thing. Go and see for yourself. It makes sense to repeat such efforts. People are “feeling” creatures. The place called a gallery exists because it values ​​“feeling”.’

‘Those customers who come to our gallery who once bought a painting or pottery would always come back. I think it’s because they realized how wonderful it is to hone your senses by feeling the Art. I felt it was a wonderful cycle.’

I felt lucky to meet this owner. I was impressed by the spirit of providing such a way of life, the value of invisible things, or something like an awareness that hone each individual’s perspective.

‘The shape of the window’ - 27th September 2020

Seeing through your soul no matter what the shape of the window

This is a story when I went to my favorite photography workshop to develop my photographs. I was highly relying on one elderly guy who was working there, though recently I didn’t manage to see him any longer in the shop. He taught me about the technical side of photography, the details that I should pay attention to, how to mount photographs in a decent manner, etc, and the best of all I enjoyed our little conversation about photography in general.

I was told that he retired the workshop as he reached the age and followed the company’s policy.

‘He kindly gave his customers beyond the scope of our services. There are more than a few people requesting us to take him back here, though the company decided not to. Because he would take care of his customers too far too much.’

What? My mind was only with a question mark. It is so rare to see such a person who has a tremendous passion for photography and sharing his knowledge at his best without expecting something in return. He was sincerely genuine.

The younger shopkeeper explained to me. ‘Mr. P (the elderly retired guy) inherited his photography business from his grandfather. His grandfather as well as his father were both professional photographers. He himself also had talent as well as plenty of technical side of knowledge. So He was always struggling for how to live by pursuing his dream of being a professional photographer for a living. 

Right now, he is volunteering to shoot children at the local school events, I was told. I do ponder sometimes for such various emotions of people, and I didn’t get even a chance to say thank you to him.
